The Argentine striker, who now plays for MLS team Inter Miami, is one of the few players who have developed a strike partnership with the two icons of the game. At Real Madrid and later at Juventus, he shared the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo. He was Lionel Messi’s partner on the Argentina national team until 2019 when he announced his retirement from international football.

They were simple to work with as teammates, according to Gonzalo Higuain, who has had the privilege of being in the dugout with them both. When asked about his connection with Messi when playing for Argentina, he said:

“As a teammate, it was to see, enjoy, and understand him. Adapt to him. It makes me very happy that he was able to be champion because I know all the effort he made for the national team.”

When asked about playing with Ronaldo, he stated he was a nice guy both on and off the field, and that their bond was stronger at Juventus than it had been with Real Madrid. He remarked:

“He is a calm, pleasant person. I found him mature, already with children (at Juventus). We talked about things; he leaned on me, asked me for opinions. As if he trusted me. The truth is that we had a good relationship in the second stage.”

You have to adapt your mindset to play with players of this caliber, says the 34-year-old striker. He went on to say that they are outstanding players with a voracious appetite for scoring goals. According to his comments to TyCSports (as relayed by PSGTalk),

“That’s why I’m telling you. You have to adapt to such great players and know what they’re like. They have that greed for goals, and then they sin with it, but it didn’t go badly for them. They have 800 goals each.”
