Lionel Messi speaks about his career at PSG and Real Madrid winning the UCL

In an recent Interview with TYC sports, he made some revelations about the difficulties he encounter last season , he also speaks about Real Madrid winning the UEFA Champions League.

Further more, he  cleared the air about Benzema on winning the BAllon d’or.

He said: “Winning Copa América and then leaving Barça? Everything that happened after the Copa, the joy I had after having had a bad time, after having lost finals. The happiness was complete and in the middle the situation [leaving Barça] happened.”

“I had everything in Barcelona. I went to Barcelona when I was very young. I lived more in Barcelona than in Argentina. The truth is that I had no plans to change anything. Luckily the adaptation of the kids was good, but for Antonela and for me it was more difficult.”

“Testing positive for COVID-19? The truth is that it hit me very hard. The symptoms were very similar to those of most people. But it left me with scars, I couldn’t train.”

“The Champions League? The best team don’t always win. Real Madrid were not the best team this season, without taking away any merit because they are the Champions League champions and they are always there.”

“Losing against Real Madrid in the UCL? The Real Madrid tie killed us. It killed me and the whole dressing room in general. We really wanted to win the Champions League.”

“I know what Real Madrid is like, I’ve lived it for many years, all my life. They score a goal out of nowhere and they automatically change the game.”

“Against Real Madrid, if a strange play or a goal happens, it changes the game. I already knew it could happen [Real Madrid comeback] and it happened to us and to all the teams [Chelsea, City and Liverpool] and it’s not the first time…”

“I’m really eager to win the Champions League again.”

“The best team don’t always win the Champions League.”

“In the Champions League there are psychological moments that get into a team, where the slightest mistake leaves you eliminated and the one who is more prepared for those situations ends up winning it.”

“At Barcelona I had teammates that I had played with for many years and they knew me very well. At PSG I had to adapt to a new system and new teammates.”

“Then I said: ‘Well, after this I start a new year [2022], I’m going to arrive with all my energy, I’m going to change, the adaptation is over’, and then I tested positive for COVID-19.”

“At PSG I started the league late because I arrived late to the club, then I had a blow to my knee that kept me out of action for a while and between one thing and another I couldn’t adapt. I couldn’t play three or four games in a row.”

“COVID-19 left a lot of scars in my lungs.”

“The whistles of the PSG fans? It is understandable the situation of the people and the anger. Then whether I agree or not about the whistles to me and Ney, we were the most pointed out… But well, it happened.”

“In Barcelona the fans never whistled at me. When the PSG fans did it, it was something new for me.”

“I didn’t like my family being in the stadium and hearing the PSG fans whistling at me. I didn’t like my children having to go through that.”

“My children didn’t tell me anything about the fans’ whistles, they just let it go. They didn’t understand anything, because they didn’t realize why either. But I know they felt something.”

“I’m thinking about being able to reverse this situation [with PSG], about not being left with the sensation of having changed clubs and not having done well.”

“Next season will be different. I know the club, the city, the dressing room. I am ready.”

“Antonela and I cried on our children’s first day of school in Paris.”

“Journalism and people in Argentina were hard on me, but everything has changed. Now they speak with more respect.”

“I miss Agüero, in everything. I was by his side all day long. We used to get up together and go to sleep together. I miss him.”

The World Cup draw? There are no easy opponents. It’s going to be tough throughout the World Cup.”

“Benzema Ballon d’Or? There is no doubt, Benzema had a sensational year and ended up winning the Champions League being important in every game. I have no doubts.”

“The words I said to Lewandowski were spoken from the heart. I said he deserved the Ballon d’Or 2020. For me he was the best that year, but he can think what he wants.”

“Lewandowski comments on the Ballon d’Or? Everyone can say what they want. I honestly don’t share what he said, I didn’t give it any importance. Let him say what he wants, I really don’t care.”

“Participate in the 2026 World Cup? First I’ll finish this World Cup, then I’ll see. Many things can happen.”

After this year’s World Cup I will rethink many things about my future.”

“Mbappé’s comments about CONMEBOL? I didn’t see how he said it, or what he said. Many times we talked about it with the Spaniards, they know how difficult it would be for them to qualify for the World Cup if they had to play in South America.”

“If Italy had qualified for the World Cup, they would be the favorites to win it.”
