Singer Simi responds to claims that she has a fake accent

Simi, a musician and songwriter from Nigeria, reacted after being accused of imitating an American accent.

The singer claimed that she doesn’t fake her accent in a video statement she just posted on her social media profile.

The singer of “Duduke” noted that she has perfect pronunciation.

“Let me tell you something that irritates me: when some motherf*ckers come on here and claim that I’m forming ascent,” she remarked. Do I truly come off as the kind of person who will be concerned about how others feel about the way I speak? This is how we’re going to use this ascent today, much as when I sit down and make a plan. I could care less. Do I sound like I’m having trouble speaking?

Simi added that the insinuations are funny to her, urging those who don’t like her accent to stay away from her social media pages.
